I never imagined that crossing the street one day would change my life forever. I was hit by a bus—an accident that left me injured, confused, and waiting months for the medical help I desperately needed. I didn’t know my rights. I didn’t know who to trust. And when I finally settled my case, it was for far less than I deserved; mentally, medically and financially.
That experience caused this.... I created this site so no one else has to go through what I did—alone (as no one else I knew ever went through this experience, and there was no Reddit or Quora for Truck Accident Lawyers Conyers, GA at the time :-(. I was overwhelmed by the experience plus my day to day responsibilities as a mom of two (who were also involved), and underrepresented my options as I rushed to JUST get the experience over with.
This isn’t just a website.
It’s a road map. A resource.
A place where anyone involved truck accidents can find some clarity, learn from my experience and take the right step to move forward.
Below are list of Accident Lawyers who have successfully won cases in Georgia.

Not all lawyers are created equal. Here’s how to find one who’s right for you:
Time is critical. Below is a brief checklist of what you need to do right away:
✅ Call 911
✅ Seek Medical Attention (Try for the same day. In my case I was shaken on day 1 - but on the second day, I would barely get out bed.)
✅ Document Everything
✅ Don’t Talk to Insurance Yet
✅ Contact a Truck Accident Lawyer (This is helpful because they can even get you more medical attention, without you paying out of pocket. This was critical for me.)
✅ Get emergency help and ensure a police report is filed. This report becomes a key piece of evidence.
✅ Even if you feel okay, internal injuries can take time to show. Get checked out and keep all records.
✅ Take photos of the scene, your injuries, and the vehicles involved. (I did not do this at the time, it was many years ago... I don't want to say the name of the phone I had at the time :-). Anyway, I mainly only had the police report, where the bus driver admitted fault on the scene. I later took my car to get repaired a few days after the crash, and the rental was taken care of by my insurance. But in the end, I was lucky since both me and my children were able to walk away from the crash.)
✅ Collect witness names and contact info.
*****NOTE******
Insurance adjusters may seem helpful—but their job is to minimize payouts. Politely decline to speak until you’ve consulted a lawyer.
✅ The sooner you get legal guidance, the better your chances of protecting your rights and maximizing your compensation.
This one is important. I treated my accident, like other small accidents I had been in before, like one in a parking lot I was in once.
I didn't even seek more medical help until abut a month after crash. And I only did this because my back pains and headaches were getting worse - neither before the crash. And since nothing was broken or bleeding for any of us, I didn't go to the ER immediately. That too was a something that I should have done.
Anyway, my lawyer - which I honestly liked and he wanted me to make the case go on longer, coordinated over a year of therapy for both me and the kids and the school paid for it.
I was actually introduced to my lawyer, via my chiropractor. (Someone I was speaking with said that chiropractors may be able to help with my back pain. So that is actually how I started to pursue a case.
It was not something that I was actively going after, I just wanted to feel better.
And of course when I called the insurance to report the accident - they mentioned NOTHING about getting legal representation... So no, the insurance company reps don't work for you. They work for the insurance company... again... not for you, not your family or your livelihood... remember that.
Truck accidents are different from car crashes. Here’s why:
You need someone who knows how to navigate this legal maze—and who’s ready to fight for you.
Here’s a simplified breakdown of what happens after you hire a lawyer:
1. Free Consultation
You’ll share your story and get a clear understanding of your legal options.
2.Investigation
Your lawyer will gather evidence—police reports, medical records, black box data, and more.
3.Negotiation
They’ll handle the insurance companies and fight for a fair settlement.
4.Lawsuit (if needed)
If negotiations stall, your lawyer may file a lawsuit and prepare for trial.
(I took the negotiation after this was dragging out for a year. I had to work and I didn't want to keep missing days for this and I just wanted this resolved. My lawyer would have went to court for me, but then I my not have received the settlement, which was less than $20,000 after they paid the medical bills, legal fees, and all the other fees. I just wanted to be DONE and to move on from this experience.
DON'T DO THIS.
Get a full understanding of what you need, as I still pay for chiropractic care for my family over 10 years after the accident. As soon as the settlement came, these visits and all future ones came from my own pocket.
KEEP THIS IN MIND!
